In this installment of our Agent Spotlight series at Southwest Florida REGroup we’re interviewing Dylan DePalma, who specializes in Charlotte County Real Estate. Let’s learn more about his buying/selling expertise, as well as get to know him a bit better outside of the real estate world.
What do you love about real estate, why’d you get into real estate in the first place?
What I love about real estate is the financial freedom that it brings, and the sense of self worth I get from helping get people into homes. Nothing is more satisfying than telling a family who thought it wasn’t possible to buy their own home that they got their offer accepted and their dreams have become a reality.
Is there a particular area in Southwest Florida you concentrate on (or love to work in)?
I love working in all of Southwest Florida, but Charlotte County in particular because it’s where I grew up. I love the laid back boating and beaching lifestyle this area provides at an affordable price tag. It’s a great place to raise a family and I think this area won’t be a well kept secret for much longer.
What do you do for fun?
I love being as active as possible whether it’s being out at a music festival, or out on the boat with friends. I love doing anything that makes me feel alive and I try to obtain that feeling as much as possible. I’m a huge sports fan and love playing video games as well.
Favorite restaurant?
I love all types of food, but I’d say my current favorite is this Italian Restaurant in town called Carmelo’s Italian Ristorante.
What are your keys to success?
I am a personal believer that if you work hard at something and never give up, you will be successful. To be more specific, I think the key in this job is the follow up. It’s easy to open doors, it’s even easy to make that first connection but you get paid in the follow up. I try to wake up every day at zero, whether I had a great day or a terrible one. I start every day at zero and don’t stop till I achieve my goals.
How has our system worked for you?
The system has worked great for me. The automation has completely leveraged my business by giving me the time to put even more deals down, and make sure I can maintain rapport with as many clients as possible. Boomtown and all the other systems have really helped me scale my business and I can’t wait to grow to levels in my business I thought were never possible.
Any tips for new agents?
I would recommend to new agents to never get discouraged in this business. This job has its ups and downs but your mindset is one of the most important things and you can’t let things affect that. Always keep training and never get stagnant. Always follow up with your clients and make sure you create great rapport with them. Write everything down somebody tells you and truly show that you’re going to be the most efficient realtor they’ve ever met. Don’t compare your success to others and just focus on growing your own business.
