Scott Roberts

In this installment of our Agent Spotlight series at Gulf Coast RE Group we’re interviewing Scott Roberts, who specializes in Lee County Real Estate. Let’s learn more about his buying/selling expertise, as well as get to know him a bit better outside of the real estate world.

What do you love about real estate, why’d you get into real estate in the first place?

I started in the real estate business back in the late 90s. My very first job was a loan officer for a mortgage company. Back in those days it was called creative financing! Which changed the mortgage company industry. I quickly made some adjustments and started doing mobile Closings for a title company in Indiana. What I started to learn about the real estate business was in those beginning years and when I saw how Realtors were able to go out and look at properties or sell properties and I decided that’s what I would like to do. I was eager to get my real estate license and then started in the auction business for heavy construction equipment. I helped develop the real estate division for that company. I Moved to Florida and the rest is history. I love working with people and helping them find their forever home or their investment property.

Is there a particular area in Southwest Florida you concentrate on (or love to work in)?

I live in Cape Coral. With that in mind Cape Coral, Fort Myers, all the way to Marco Island.

What do you do for fun?

Living in Southwest Florida is fun!  Boating and the beach is my happy place.

Favorite restaurant?

Fish tale Grill restaurant here in Cape Coral. Great seafood!!

What are your keys to success?

Loving what you do. When you wake up in the morning you’re OK with picking up the phone and making contacts with ones that wanna move or invest in this area. In our industry there’s a lot of ups and downs so perseverance is the key for success in this business. Your reward for that priceless! Not only in business but in your family.

How has our system worked for you?

It has worked exactly the way I was told on the very first day that I started the company. Follow the Boomtown plan, stay informed and connected with Facebook and the team. Nine months later and a lot of open houses, it happened!! and it’s continuing to roll now.

Any tips for new agents?

Don’t stop, you may feel like you need to, but keep making the calls. The system works!
